Sailing at Packanack Lake

The purpose of the Packanack Yacht Club is to promote sailing at the lake. To that end, we host racing events and provide sailing lessons to both children and adults.

Packanack Lake is a beautiful and safe lake to sail. For that reason, it is an excellent place to learn to sail, and sailing is a great way to enjoy the best of what our lake has to offer.

All members of the Packanack Lake Community Association are cordially invited to become members of the Packanack Yacht Club. We provide a full schedule of cruising and racing activities each year. The Packanack Yacht Club runs sailboat races from June to October and we have a very popular junior sailing program. We also sponsor Sea Scout Ship 104.

Sea Scout Ship 104, affiliated with Boy Scouts of America, is a group open to both boys and girls of at least 14 years of age, and provides the opportunity for kids to learn about sailing and life on the water. The Scouts learn seamanship and become familiar with bigger boats during frequent short cruises and on their annual week-long summer cruise, which is the highlight of their season.
