The Packanack Yacht Club junior sailing program offers lessons for both beginner and intermediate/advanced sailors. The program runs for two full weeks and the comprehensive nature of instruction dictates that the full two-week session must be attended. No partial sessions are offered. Students must be at least 10 years old by the start of lessons and a Packanack Lake Community Association (PLCA) family member in good standing.
The junior sailing instruction has classroom time learning component followed by a hands-on, on-the-water, instruction. Therefore, to ensure everyone’s safety, we administer a swim test. Yacht club boats will be available for use, so boat ownership is not a requirement.
